Phil Spector is a Living God

Phil Spector is crazy, no doubt. No one has ever doubted that. Phil's idea of motivation is
screaming at the talent or perhaps pointing guns at them until they performed at their
best. The fact remains that Phil Spector was responsible for the greatest age of modern
music. In case you're not familiar, his discography as producer is... prodigious.

Singularly responsible for the 'wall of sound' techniques so audible in the hit he produced
for the Righteous Brothers: "You've lost that loving feeling".

A powerhouse producer known equally for his eccentricities and temper as for his
immense talent. A man who gave Brian Wilson his first job in the studio. Working with
the Beatles, the Funk Brothers, the Ramones.... a monster in the industry.

A recently remastered compilation of his hits from the motown era has been published,
and here it is:

Phil Spector: Wall of Sound Retrospective.

I hope it makes your hair stand on end like it does mine.

Labels: motown, mp3s, phil spector
